I've been in land based search and rescue for 5 years or so, rain gear is a must, the best stuff I found for beating around in the woods is a combination. I usually wear a gortex jacket, LL Bean All Conditions, and if something were to ever happen to that jacket, id throw on a cheap 10 dollar poncho. Does the trick from here in maine,
