Stanton Bay recollections

To use it you'll need a Canadian connection of some sort. As I recall the turn off is 10 minutes from French and the logging road might be a half hour long - give or take. I remember it always seemed like it took forever so it may be longer. Unless things have changed, and I doubt it, I wouldn't recommend using a car. (I noticed mine was the only car at French this spring so I'm not sure that warning is even worth mentioning.) You're not exactly looking at a short portage either.

All things considered it's probably not a big time saver compared to entering at French. It would of course depend on which way and how hard the wind is blowing.

So far I probably haven't helped you much so here is one thing I know for sure - if you fish, try the area for walleyes.
