We did the portage on August 6th of 2001 and did the whole portage. The blowdown was bad....should have done the same as you. What was the rest of your route, my group may have passed you. We camped the 6th and the 7th on the island on Olifaunt. We told some people going the same direction as us that we had to do some crawling, we may be the ones that talk to you. Have a good one!
