Re: stanton bay

Jim,
My group is sold on Stanton Bay. We've used it four times in the last twelve years. Time from the highway varies a lot, depending on road conditions, especially on how long since the last heavy rain and how active the loggers and beavers have been. From the end of the portage it's an easy three hours to either the Pickerel River or Dieux Riviere portages; that first night you can be camping on Sturgeon or even Russell. Beats the daylights out of that long, inevitably upwind paddle from French Lake. Downside? Parking ain't great, although it's kilometres (it's Canada, after all) ahead of Beaverhouse.
