Trip Report

Day 1
We took the tow from Moose Lake to Prairie Portage. Managed to be the first one's thru and on the water by 9:00 am.
We paddled thru Inlet and Bayley Bay. Up thru Burke, North Bay, and the many beaver Dam lift overs to Isabella Lake. Stopping at the campsite on the narrow channel for lunch. From there we paddle thru the Unnamed Lakes to Side Lake. Tired but wanting to get on Sarah Lake for the night we portage on thru. Paddled up the channel to what we hoped to be our campsite for the night. Unfortunatly it was taken, so we paddled on the the next channel not far from the portage to McIntyre Lake. It was a long day but we had made the goal of Sarah Lake.
Day 2
After the up hill portage to McIntyre Lake we headed north. The wind was blowing but not to bad. As we got to the main part of the lake it started to rain.
From there we went to Brent Lake then east to Suzanette Lake. Planning again to camp there but decided to go on to Conmee Lake. We camped on a nice small campsite in the channels on the east side.
My buddy caught a nice northern up in the channel that evening.
Day 3
The fun day. The Death March Portage was exactly that a long march. But 4 hours later we were on Delahey Lake. Planning on camping on the Oliver Jar site. Darn it as we came around the point on the Island it was taken. I sure was disappointed I really was counting on reading most of the night. The wind was straight out of the west and really strong. But we fought it to the portage to Veron Lake. Even managed to let thru the mean portage to Camel Lake. Found the campsite on the south east shore. Great site sat around the camp fire lessening to the wolves.
Day 4
We slept in this morning as our bodies were still adjusting to all the paddling. I was fishing early on before my partner got up. But all it took was hooking a nice walleye he was up and fishing in less than 5 minutes. We caught enouth for a brunch. Ate and broke camp. On the water about 11.
We paddled the rest of Camel, Cutty Creek to Eag Lake. Then the creek to Cub, Baird, then Metcryst Lakes. By about 4:00 we were on Heronshaw Lake. We portaged to Cairn Lake paddle to the Sark Lake Portage.
Paddled to the south end of Sark to a great campsite on an Island. Got camp set up just as a huge storm was coming in. Had a lot of lighting but very little rain.
Day 5
My buddy and I decide to head out. We decided we would get as close to Prairie to night as we could.
We fought a strong head wind all the way to the south end of Kahshahpiwi Lake. Portage over to Side Lake then took the south portage to by pass that portage with the hill. We decided that since the wind was strong again today we would use it on North Bay. Doing so we headed our south thru Point and Nest Lakes. Sliding across North Bay with the wind at our backs. Made it really a pleasure. Portaged over to Burke Creek and the the Lake. The wind had picked up so we figured we would end up camping on the campsite on Bayley Bay next to the portage. It was now 6:00 pm. The waves weren't to bad so we pressed on thinking we could make it to Prairie to catch the last tow out. We made it to Prairie but missed the tow by 30 minutes. We camped there and then towed out the next morning.

Now I know some of you think that a trip like this is insane. But this is the kind of workout I like, and what I go for. But it was hard on my buddy.
I would like to thank you all who gave me advise on the area before my trip. It made finding a couple campsite's easier and the fishing even better.
