I'd recommend Tuscarora Outfitters off the Gunflint. And I have no affiliation other than having great luck up there. Kerry has cabins and outfitting with all the stuff so you could paddle right from his dock to BWCA lakes if you so chose. Day trips and then return to the cabins for the 'weak of heart'.
