Ha! We have our fair share of those little ba$%&rds down here, but they're not nearly as blood-thirsty. I'd hate to be responsible for cross-breeding a new strain!

I had another funny thought this morning. One of the many vocational hats I wear is that of video producer. And I also like to cook (actually, on trips with my brothers I'm always refered to as "cookie"). When the virtual campsite's done, I could produce a video about cooking in the Boundary Waters! I could demonstrate frying fish, baking over the fire, how to pack the food, how to hang it - include segments for the super-lightweight backpacker style to the folks who lug around two 80-lb food packs! All I need's a title . . . hmmm . . . how about "Paddle Like a Dog, Eat Like A King?" I might be on to something here! DB, how about marketing it on QJ? :-)
