Howard's Stew
(a Hearty Meal For 2) thanks to

Recipe Ingredients:
- Prepare 3 packages at home
- Package A
- 3 tbs. pearl barley
- 3/4 cups dried cubed potatoes
- Package B
- 3/4 cups dried lean beef
- 1/4 cups dried green beans
- 1/4 cups dried carrots
- 1/8 cups dried mushrooms
- 1/8 cups dried celery
- 1/8 cups dried cauliflower
- 1/8 cups dried onions
- Package C
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 pouch "roast beef gravy"
- 2 fresh garlic cloves (chop fine at camp)
- 2 fresh carrots (optional for crunch)
- At Camp
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 tbs. lard (puts flavor back in the ground beef)
Cooking instructions:
1. Boil barley and potatoes (pkg. A) in 4 cups of water for 20 min.
2. Add veggies, lard, garlic, salt, pepper & fresh carrots and simmer for 30 min.
3. Add gravy and stir over high heat until thick
*** Add water as needed or desired at any point during the process.
