Recipe Ingredients:
- Bisquick
- Squeez cheese
- packet of taco seasoning
- freeze dried onion
- 9 lb. Walleye
- (put in some burger if you got it)
- Crystal clear lake water
- Oil
Cooking instructions:
Clean fish and cut into small pieces.
Mix bisquick and a very small amount of water till you have bisquick dough.
In camp skillet, heat deep oil to cooking temp. Roll dough into a ball then pat out till it is a disc almost the size of your skillet bed and fry till golden brown. Do as many as you like then set aside to cool. (Each makes 2 QueTacos)
Drain off most of the oil, and toss in fish, taco seasoning, and onions, and cook till fish is moist and white.
Cut bread discs in half and split to make a bread shell.
Fill with meat mixture and top with squeez tube cheddar
Variations/Hints:
Serve with packets of Spanish rice.
You may substitute lake trout, smallmouth bass, or northern pike for walleye.
Comments:
These take awhile to prepare but are well worth it, as a basecamp
meal. Good for late in the week when you want a variation from fried
fish.
