We didn't get a chance to fish on Bologna. We pulled in late, in a pretty good rain. Up early and on our way the next norning. But as I said before, though, given the day, Bologna Lake might have been the best site I've ever stayed on in the BWCA!

Loved the route, but I also cannot image how much of a pain it would be in low water.
It was nice to see you in short sleeves with blue skies! We were rainy and pretty cold, but would still do it again. It's a great route, but prepare for crappy portaging. Every landing at both ends were a hugee pain. And we were SUPER lucky to get the one sight on Bologna on our trip. It was about 4 and pouring rain when we pulled in. It would have been dark and nasty to have to have moved on to Afton.
