I've never tried a solar shower, perhaps that's why I solo!! Alone with my thoughts, my journal and my stench! Good luck, I'm sure any shrinkage will be temporary!! Brrrrrrrrr.

Ummm, I'd argue that if you are bringing a solar shower, you are not committed to bathing in the lake!
I agree with SD, I take a solar shower, and on my camp days, depending on sun, will heat heat water and add too shower if needed. Yes, I've washed in 50 degree water, maybe colder, but if your lugging the shower anyway, why not enjoy and nice 5 minute hot shower every few days and a clean set of clothes. Nothing beats a hot shower/clean clothes and a good meal with a cocktail after a few hard days in the woods. I've spent weeks backpacking sans baths/clean clothes, I didn't feel more "manly" because I smelled so bad, I couldn't stand myself The British had it right, just because your in a "savage" land doesn't mean you have too be one

Gotta dry suit? The temp at my house in central Mn 46, I wonder what its like 300 miles north of here? Don't waste your time on a solar shower, heat up some h20 and scrub! Water temps are lower than you think!!!!

Doing the Bottle - Crooked - Elk - Argo - Roland Chain Loop. Will be in the woods for about 9 days. Hope to hit the smallmouth fishing just right.
Bringing a solar shower but I am committed to bathing in the lake. The water temps here on Ky. Lake are in the low to mid 70's and it's a liitle cool. 50 degree water will be brutal but doable.
