I don't know about you guys, but the thought of burning someone else's sh*! in a firepit I may or may not use for cooking grosses me out! Definitely need a gag smiley for this!
If used for no. 1, maybe not so bad, but for no. 2- NO WAY! And given the fact that more Quetico trippers are male than female, the likelihood that all that TP is from no. 2 is more than probable!
I'm definitely a packer, not a burner!

All jokes aside, there's a serious component too my fiery death comment I'm of the mind that ANYONE who thinks a campsite/portage trail is suitable for a bathroom undoubtedly isn't big on personal hygiene or health issues Handling the waste of morons like that requires more than just a strong stomach and long stick. I can think of a few nasty diseases that handling human waste without the proper gear puts you at risk of contracting. Packing THAT Bio-Hazard in a pack no matter how careful you might be, seems like asking for trouble " Cool and Smart" are two words people that KNOW me would never, ever use together The "big scary wolf pic" isn't scary at all, IT like ME are just big softies IF you treat them right
Good luck with that karma aspect. You certainly deserve a little but I don't think you can just go ahead and ask for specifics. It's a long shot alright, especially with something so generally useful although I'm sure your efforts 'll pay dividends when you least expect it.
Packing stuff like that out does seem like big bonus points are called for. I use to poke 'em down with a stick but on my own recent trip they became so common I just looked the other way, deciding instead to welcome them as little "you don't want to put your tent or do your dishes here" flag type warnings. Such fresh and neat little folded flowers could not possibly have been once buried and later dug up - even though there had been some digging about. Some people seem to be not at all shy if those were group trips as I questioned placement far too often.
Glad to hear you had a great trip! Report??

Solotripper just must think he's soooo cool and smart, with his big scary wolf photo and his "couldn't you just give them a fiery death in a nice evening campfire"
FYI, ST: I'm SURE that with just a few more days (like 8 tops), I DEFINITELY would have thought of that. Not a doubt in my mind.
I could definitely see burning to be a more satisfying and cathartic means of disposal. Even if it had occurred to me, after stuffing it to the bottom of a plastic bag, I'd personally prefer no further interaction with the feces of others while on my vacation. But that's just me. Besides, the fire rings seem full of enough partially burned trash already.
Predictably, the majority of TP was noted on my way out through the highly travelled Burke/Sunday/Bailey areas. Even oddly more irritating and offensive (to me at least) than the TP were the dozen or so cigarette butts sitting on the Burke side of the Burke/Bailey portage. Unbelievable.
Kawishiway can have the patent on the "T-P Bomb Head Lamp" In the relentless pursuit of perfect LNT, I'm aiming at a biofuel/methane powered LED.

Another thought is , couldn't the TP Bombs be used to fuel a new prototype of Head Lamp? A "T-P Bomb Head Lamp". I thought of it first... I get the patent and copyrights!
No contest. Let me suggest the name, 'Heads Up' the first and only bomb-light, you'll ever need. Unlike ordinary battery lights, this one gets stronger over time...

KUDOS for picking up the TP bombs, but I have too ask? Couldn't you just give them a fiery death in a nice evening campfire? I don't mind picking them up, packing them out is another thing

Just returned from the best solo Quetico trip EVER!!! Only two downsides to the otherwise perfect trip: packing out way too much of other paddlers used TP from portages and campsites (we really need a gagging smiley!), and realizing that I left an almost new headlamp on an Agnes campsite. So, looking to spend some of my good karma capital from the former in the hopes to being reunited with the latter, I thought I'd see if anyone heading up Agnes in the coming weeks might keep an eye out for a Tikka XP.
I know that this is a L-O-N-G shot, but also know of similar but much longer shots successfully sunk on this site. So if anyone heading up Agnes in the coming weeks happens to stop at the campsite at the point on the northern tip of the narrows (with the two tiny islands just offshore) and wants to take a quick look around for me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
