Starwatcher:

Were your photos scanned from film? The color-balance is reminiscent of film- very nice.

WiF,

The REI tent is my friends and one comment that I don't like about it is that its four 20 foot poles have to be inserted through a nylon mesh;  which is insane, very difficult, and typically takes two people to set it up.  A newer version of the tent you just have to clip the tent to the poles, which is incredibly easier.  I hope you have the new version.

I like the rain-on-water shots today and yesterday.  Makes me feel peaceful.

Thanks WiF!

Looking back they looked a little cloudy and gloomy to me now; at least there is a ray of sun today.

Today's (Feb 4th) photo is the protected bay on the east side (which just happened to be stocked with small mouth bass).

Yes, Ho Ho; the campsite is on the south shore on the west end of the lake (The north shore is rugged and in Canada).  That last chance to get a site on that end of the lake. It was a good site because you could access it from two sides, from a protected bay on the east side.  Ottertrack has limited campsites with only one campsite on the east end.  I wonder why the FS didn't also create a campsite at the old miner's camp on the east end that looks like a nice site.

Looks like today (Feb 1) is Ottertrack Lake day on Quiet Journey.  Is the picture from the campsite on the north shore near the western end of the lake?  It looked nice from the water.

JJ

I was talking with the FS Station Crew and I understand that the Forest Service did a controlled burn in that area to block the potential fires over the blowdown area.
