I have not done them recently but coming from the south may be easier in the respect that you won't miss the 2nd portage (as you can from the north because it is marked wrong on the Fischer map)  But remember, the Q map has everything marked correctly.  The 3rd portage close to Conmee was moist and we sunk a bit!  But they are beautiful.  And Pooh Bah is wonderful.  So is Wink.  PM me of you want other info on Pooh Bah.  Kim

Anyone done the Memory Lane portages recently, especially going in the direction from Conmee towards Poohbah?  I know Dan did them a couple years ago going the other way and I think got led down a false portage and had to bushwhack.  I'd like to avoid that, so if there are any things you need to know to keep from going the wrong way from south to north please tell.  Also, I hear the southern portage can be VERY mucky in wet seasons, which this might be.  Any info would be much appreciated!  Thanks in advance.
