On past trips (all in the Fall) we've typically blown through this area without so much as wetting a line, but considering it's spring, and knowing that walleye migrate upriver to spawn, I'm wondering if good fishing can be had at the base of Basswood, Wheelbarrow and/or Lower Basswood Falls? We usually don't break out the rods on the first day of travel, but based upon your feedback this year might be an exception.
