Sounds like a great adventure! Give us a call if you have time in Duluth.  Kerry and I may go up to Lutsen mid next week and we may also be in Ely.  Have a great trip!

We are leaving Michigan tomorrow and taking our sweet time to get to the canoe country.  Will finally arrive at the Gunflint on Saturday and will spend a week at Rockwood Lodge in a cabin with our granddaughter, age 8.  This is our fifth year in a row for a cabin week with Anna and we are excited about all of the possibilities.

The next week we will move to a cabin at Shagawa Inn Resort (Ely) and Spartan1 will go out for a five-day guided trip out of Mudro to Crooked with "Go Wilderness Journeys", while I stay at the cabin.  He won this trip in the online contest--and Ramsey is going to teach him to fish!  Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?  We will see. . . .

Finally, we have a permit for Kawishiwi Lake for September 5th and we hope to be out for six days.  I am working with some pain issues this summer, so it may be a no-portage trip with some day trips or short excursions.

We won't be getting back home until something like September 13th.  We are considering a trip around the north shore of Lake Superior in Canada on our way back to Michigan.

If you see a white Chevy Impala with a beat-up green Bell Northwind on top (flying moose stickers on one end and quiet journey logo on the other) wave to us or stop and say "Hi!"
