As much as I/we enjoy laughing at someone else's pain , it could have been a lot worse and maybe even ruin a trip or cost someone their sight
I'm in the process of converting all my lures to these. Used with great success steelhead fishing in Muskegon river. Didn't notice a loss in hookups, and better yet, didn't lose a single lure to the water Gods.
They sell 3 pc packs of a single size, and a combo sample pack of all the types of hooks they make. Their patented coil spring weedguard would of prevented that pike attack from doing any damage

I did that once. A barbed treble was deep in the Musky's mouth, and the tail hook was in, and out of my hand. The fish was flopping and i was attached to him. My wife cut the barb off the hook that was sticking out of my hand. Proud to say the fish got back in the water with little damage to it. Although, I felt like killing it at the time.

Ouch. Extraction method: 1) Push thru & cut off 2) Extract, since the barb was pinched
My guess is you did #2 to save the hook, but that would hurt a good bit -- so you must have really wanted to put the pretty red treble back on the lure! -Tom
