I use that Tupperware thing for mixing... well I don't know what it's made to mix. But it works well for mixing Nido milk. I mix it the night before and hope it chills in the night. Worked great last September. I liked it with my oatmeal. I just saw Nido for the first time in a Walmart (Billings) in the Hispanic section.

Nestle KLIM is another brand of whole powder milk. Stores that cater to an Asian population will carry it (as will those that cater to Hispanics and Caribbean peoples).
Organic valley powdered milk is fantastic. It is a cooperative in SW Wisconsin so it is not widely available, but you can get it in the Twin Cities. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) Jon

I've become fond of the gsi fair share mug (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) as both mixing container and bowl. You get good mixing of a cup of nido in the qt container and just add granola and eat. Rinse, cap, and clean later even.

Another Nestle brand of whole powdered milk is KLIM. This can be found in stores catering to Hispanics and Asians. Mixing is a pain - especially if the water is cold. I make it in a 1L nagalen and shake the heck out of it.

Nido is great stuff. I mix it approximately half and half with Carnation instant dry milk to yield the 2% I'm used to. It's true that Nido doesn't mix as quickly as Carnation, and it mixes better with hot water. My approach is to use a 16-oz. Nalgene bottle (which I use for rehydrating other things as well) and mix the milk in the evening. After sitting overnight it's just like out of the refrigerator, only usually not quite as cold.

Interesting, I thought it mixed better cold. In my experience the hot water seems to separate come oils out. Also a fresher can works better overall, hot or cold. JJS

Go in October and likely it will be as cold or colder than fridge. I should try the mix but with crapola or grape nuts, the higher fat content is OK. And I like this: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links); great for shaking and if solo or one of us if not uses it as the bowl. Good shaking and easy to clean.

The only drawback is it doesn't completely dissolve when I use it as cream in my coffee.

I agree about Nido's problems as a coffee creamer, and I LIKE cream in my coffee. As pathetic as it is, I bring along those little creamer containers like the kind you get at McDonalds! (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
