This was taken in Alberta, but it's a red squirrel, same as you see all the time in canoe country. Did you know they can chatter at full volume even holding a fir cone in their mouth?

May many happy memories of past travels and the anticipation of trips to come help to warm your season.

May the the woods help you to find your spiritual center and give you peace.

Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas to everyone!   What does it ssy about  those of us checking a canoeing web site at dawn (or before) on Christmas Day?

It says that - on a day of peace when we are most mindful of the Spiritual - our private thoughts gravitate to places where our spirits have been especially moved.

As for me, I am thankful to share such places with friends I have made here.  Thanks for that, David.

Merry Christmas to all!
