A few observations from my recently completed Quetico trip. No real revelations, just what I found:

Lead jigs with gulp minnows or leeches continue to be a go to bait in current. Flip it out, keep your line tight, hang on.

Rapala Shadow Rap was the hot artificial, particularly good over rock reefs and weeds. Caught the big 4 on one of these baits. Great wounded minnow action. Triggered most strikes when bait was left to pause and slowly rise to surface.

Late in the summer you have to be on the water in lowlight conditions if you want to increase your chances on catching walleye or trout. Duh, but worth noting.
