The "article" is basically an extended ad for a passport application service; more interested in taking from your wallet than providing accurate information.

This breaks the pro's and con's down for you.

  I didn't know only 4 states offer EDL'S.
For many that make's the point moot.

Just an aside on this.  I think the passport card is only good if driving into Mexico or Canada.  If flying I believe you need a regular passport.  I went on an unexpected skiing trip to Banff a few weeks ago (flew into Calgary) and had to go to Chicago to get my about to expire passport renewed before I left.  Patience and a sense of humor paid off on that ordeal.  Good thing that kindly brother-in-law lives on the near north side and drove me downtown twice.  Makes me appreciate the wilderness all the more!

Safe travels........Mike

$65.00 for ten years. $30 renewal.

Also good for travel to the Caribbean and Bermuda (Isn't Bermuda considered Caribbean?).

I didn't know there was just a passport card?
How long are they good for and what do the cost?

An Enhanced Driver's license in MI is $45 and is good for 3 yrs.

I drive better half blind than most of the people I see driving looking at their phones.  Wink Grin Grin
