Thank you - I'll strive to be concise around here.  Wink

Ironically, unlike TomT,  I'm a consummate introvert, requiring a ratio of 2:1 for time alone: time with other people. Maybe that's the beauty of online forums. You can just paddle away when it gets to be too much.

Don't confuse TomT with Tom.  Tom is very much a classic introvert.  TomT is a bit of a character played by Tom.   Wink  Shug is the same way.  He talked about it a few years ago.  He's very much an introvert also.

I grew up with eight sisters.  Undecided

My buddy grew up the baby with 4 older sisters.
He likes to tell people how hard it was for him to be potty trained because he insisted on sitting like his sisters.  Wink Grin Grin

Welcome JillPine.  And here I thought this was a good ol' boys club around here.  I suppose we're going to have to start putting the toilet seat down now Roll Eyes

Don't forget IC Mike  Wink Grin Grin
She probably has more tripping time than just about anyone else here or close to it.

We have SP2 as well. I'd include PJ's Queen of the Nile wife but I'm sure he brings in a PORT-POTTY with LID for her.  Wink Roll Eyes Grin Grin  It's GOOD to be the Queen.  Cool

Incidentally, have any of you ever heard or met Michael Furtman, the author of the original post? I saw him speak years ago in Duluth - just terrific. So precise, soft-spoken, careful, and obviously so concerned with the protection of the area. His writings have influenced me tremendously over the years.

Gosh, I've already managed to ramble. Have a great weekend, everyone! Get out there and paddle if you're able.

Thank you, S2 - also looking forward to ongoing trip reports and photos from you! I love them and have for many years on other forums. Visited your favorite site on Cherokee early this summer with my son. I left some good thoughts and prayers in your honor!

Yes, welcome Jillpine.  It is nice to see another female in this place.  There aren't a whole lot of us here.   Wink

TomT -

Are you implying I'm verbose on other forums - no way.

Thank you for the welcome - great to be here. Feels just like my childhood home - full of boisterous men who get nothing done but wisecracking. Just kidding!

JillPine - from Jack Pine. Scraggly, prickly, tough and northern.  Wink
