I've been through the lake a few times over the years.  The portage is mis marked on some maps on the McIntyre end.  It's just east of a small spit of an island and has a grassy, open landing.

I fished the lake in 2011 passing through but didn't run into anything.  I haven't seen the site.

Camp is a small island site. Seems to have a fair amount of use. Two small camps on the northern shore east of the island/ Portage to the north is directly into Burt (just a back bay). There are nice largemouth in Paulene. It would be fun to go up into the arms. I've only passed through- but have passed through a lot (once or twice a year).

I should add portage to McIntyre is relatively difficult. Climbs out of Paulene and then a steep descent towards McIntryre before ending with a long soggy section with difficult footing, (rocks, roots, mud, water). Portage into Burt is fairly level, somewhat long, a bit swampy just as you approach Burt. Both portages are easy to locate from Paulene but difficult to find on the Burt or McIntyre end.

It's Q. There's a portage out of McIntyre to the south and a no-name lake to the north that could take you to Burt for example.

Never been there but they tell me it's nice.

Have any of you ever stayed on this site? What's it like? I love out of the beaten path/quiet places and this looks inviting to me.
