I've had good fishing for lakers and smallmouth bass on Ted. I've caught small blue walleyes on Marj here and there years ago- almost always right as it got too dark to fish.

Been to both lakes a couple times each. Solus is correct re campsites. I feel both are fairly secluded, as I can't recall seeing more than a couple paddlers in the times I've been on these lakes. And sorry to disappoint, but while Ted is really scenic, and Marj's water clarity in really really clear, fishing on either of these lakes is mediocre at best by Q standards. Better fishing by far on Burt, and I've heard reports of blue walleye in Joyce.

Depends on group size. Ted has a site that is able to accommodate a group of six comfortably. The sites on Marj are small- I've witnessed larger groups but I really think a group of two is about the most I'd fit in the established sites on Marj (Burt is the better choice for a larger group). Ted is more "scenic" with considerable elevation on some shorelines and numerous dramatic islands. Marj is more subtle - takes a little teasing to learn the appeal. These are two of my favorite lakes in the park. I try to go to each at least once every year- in fact I usually travel from Ted to Marj or Marj to Ted (back to back nights) on one trip each year.
Fishing is probably better on Ted. Marj has the clearest water in the park (or at least it did in the last secchi disc survey I saw). The clarity of the water might be the reason fishing is harder. Both offer great day trip possibilities.
ST means Burt/Marj/Joyce Kahshahpwi not Keefer.

They are both nice lakes but since it looks like the park will be opening late, you have to consider they both lie in areas that are very popular, which might affect how secluded/quiet they are?
I'd take in the number of campsites too. The fewer places to camp the more likely people will pass thru rather than basecamp.
Personally I'd go to Marj, check it out BUT I would head for Joyce and basecamp there. Very secluded, not that well traveled unless your going from Marj Burt to Keefer or the other way around. Not many campsites either for a lake that size.
I did a trip from Burt thru Marj and then Joyce to Keefer and back to BH. I didn't stay on Joyce just passed thru.

Good point! 1. Good Fishing 2. Secluded/Quiet 3. Beauty...I haven't seen any ugly places in the park yet. 4. Likelihood of seeing a moose or other wildlife. 5. Good Fishing
