Profile Overview

QuietJourney Forums allows you to fill out a profile which tells other members about you.  You can have your name, age, instant messenger information, personal avatar, and more!

Editing Your Profile
To change your profile at any time, click the "Profile" option in the forum menu.


Profile Options

Password
Passwords have no restrictions, but it is recommended that you type at least 6 characters, using a combination of characters and numbers. Both password fields must be the same, simply as a check that you typed it correctly.
Example: xd8bill

Name
This is your real or displayed name. This is what will be shown throughout the forum, in place of your username.
Example: Happy Camper

Email Address
This must be valid to register, and things may (if you choose) be sent to this email address by the forum, such as topic and Instant Message notifications. It is also required if you ever wish to retreive a forgotton password. It can be displayed or hidden. Hidden is strongly recommended unless you are so lonely you actually like SPAM. With the last security update this is fairly safe - especially when you use throw away addresses like hotmail, yahoo, canoe... Personally I prefer people to contact me via e-mail rather than IM. That is the ONLY reason I put an address out there.

Mostly travels
You only get two choices. I guess you could leave it blank to say there is no difference for you.  It is displayed in your profile for other visitors to see.

Birthdate
This is an optional field. Your birthdate, in MMDDYYYY form. It will display your age for other visitors. Example: 07 31 1981

Location
You may type your favorite BW/Q location or where you live in this field. It is displayed in your profile for other visitors to see.

Personal Text
The default is "Enjoy the Journey!"
This is a very brief message that you may type in that's shown below your Personalized Picture wether or not a picture is displayed.

Time Offset
This is a + or - number to add or subtract to the current time showing on the forum. The forum's server may be in a different time zone than your computer.
Example: Forum time shows 13:28, but your time is 14:28. Time Offset would be +1

Signature
This is a brief message that you may type in.  Signatures are shown at the bottom of each of your posts.
Example: "There is no such thing as a stupid question. Answers, on the other hand, are always debatable."
