When I was in Viet Nam in 1969 they were just finishing up the last of the Korean War era C rations.  Army chocolate has a half life, not an expiration date

If it's only men around it'll last for years (like Bullfrog said.)

If any women are around, about 13 milliseconds.  (The women in this house can find chocolate as fast as a pig finds truffles.)


The only candy we bring is for the diabetic...lifesavers, of course!

Please note, TTC posted this, not me!  I only thought it!.

Seriously, the big issue with chocolate is melting.  If you can keep it from melting send me your secret (winter camping does not count.)  As far as how long it lasts, a lot longer than any permit will.

MM's do ok in the heat if you keep them from getting crushed.
Also, dark semi-sweet chocolate has a higher melting point than milk chocolate.
