When I was on our high school trips, we were told about a guy up on McIntyre lake. The crazy, orphaned, axe wielding woodsman, that got his leg caught in a trap as a boy. He had a peg leg. He also was supposed to have chopped up several scouts in their tents on McIntyre, back in the 40's....but of course, he was still alive. His calling card was a THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, deep in the woods....and his name was Stumpy !

More pieces to the illusive "Legend of Badwater".  Gives me chills every time I think of it.

Ho Ho,

Speaking of monikers, my friend, I can see that you are truly aptly named!

On the other hand, indeed, THIS surely IS food for thought... very painful thought.  You leave me nearly speechless (an achievement my brother would say is "desirable but surely impossible").

I must look into this development a little further....

Sooooo
Do I explain myself further ?
Do I give you references ?
Do I tell you I'm really a nice guy ?
Nahhh !

Besides, everyone knows it was Mr Green, with the candlestick, in the conservatory...Not Stumpy, with the axe, on McIntyre.

Hi, my name is Greg, and I'm a bushwacker.

There, I've admitted it, and that's the first step towards recovery.  Now, where's the coffee and donuts?

I've alluded to it in other places, but here's the official committment - we'll be there.  Caked in muck (which helps with the itching bug bites), shredded to pieces, bewildered, and hungry for bullhead stew.  Six of us, bringing the total # of crazy people on Chub pond to ?? (not counting the flamingos).

So, who else will commit?  Or is it best not to, that way when you've lost your second pair of boots in the muck, you can back out without losing face?  Wink

JUST 100 DAYS UNTIL HORDES OF BUSHWHACKERS DESCEND UPON STUMPY'S CHUB POND TO HAVE THEIR JAMBOREE!!

I guess I should really say "ascend", IF I am reading those topo maps correctly.

Regardless, come one, come all!!  Fabulous door prizes!  Tall timber tales!  An angler's challenge!  An entymologist's paradise!  Other unusual life forms!  A sociologist's puzzle!  A psychologist's dream!

Did I mention those Fabulous Door Prizes?!?

YIKES !

Jimbo, I'm done selling this idea. The last thing I want is for "hordes" of people to show up. We'll see how this one goes, then we can start planning for 2010.

Then again, if they don't have a permit by now...they're out of luck. So what the hell....Come on all ye guttless chicken livers. I double dog dare you !

I haven't heard of a double dog dare since little Ralphy stuck his tongue on the frozen monkey bars at his school.  Count me in on the 2010 BWJ.  I'll be looking for partners.

Sorry!  (Flaw in my character)

It wasn't Ralphie.  It was "POOR Flick" who was the victim of Schwartz's breach of protocol.  And it was the flag pole.
