PJ has always DREAMED of writing off Quetico as a "business trip"....

Dreamed of. . . ??  It has been a write off for the past 5 years.  Along with passing the jug to fellow canoe mates, I hand out business cards too.  I also write off . . . . . nevermind.  Big Brother might be checking in on QJ.

I wonder if my canoe, fish finder, and laptop tackle box, along with my rod and reel qualify for the ''home office deduction''? ???  I've done some of my best counselling and advising from the stern seat. Roll Eyes

Print up a business card, create a product.. "I.E."  B.U.G.B.I.T Repelent, that can be claimed as a sellable item and you are set...one hundred percent legit.

Next trick is investing enough on your venture and profiting enough as well to prompt the extra effort of the paper work to make it worth your time...but you already knew that.

I'd rather work my job and vacation my vacation.  Mental health aint worth writing off.

News Flash!!  It turns out Stumpy Lake is in tidewater Virginia.  The 2005 Jamborvous is being relocated immediately to this location.  See (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) and (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) for further information.  All Jamborvous bushwhackers must report to the first tee on June 15.  Please note the following dress code restrictions:  No cut-offs or tank tops.  Note in addition that water hazards come into play on four holes, and that the location was carved out of woodland & is surrounded by water.  See the links for further details.

Alas!  Rampant commercialism runs amuck even with such an altruistic wilderness adventure as Jamboree!  Clearly Stumpy is prospecting for a 2nd Robert Trent Jones golf course to add to his "chain"... in this case, an unusual tourist trap catering to that very special/curious golfer who likes to hit it from the rough & "get away from it all".  This is terribly disappointing.   Cry  Such a sad revelation for B.U.G.B.I.T. enthusiasts who planned to flock (does a dozen make a flock?) just west of Kawnipi Lake in June!  Such a serious letdown!   Cry

So - now that Jamboree is exposed for a blatant capitalistic for-profit, shameless, materialist enterprise - WHERE can we spirited voyageurs place our faith?  Certainly NOT with the man in the blue leotards, red cape, and sporting a big "S" emblazoned on his chest!!  ???  Certainly NOT in Jamboree....

Forsooth, WHERE shall we go?   Embarrassed WHAT shall we do???  Undecided

CONSIDER BUSHWHACKERS JIMBOREEE!!  Cheesy  INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH, JIMBOREE OFFERS SIMILAR TERRAIN, AVAILABILITY DATES, FISHING & CAMPING OPPORTUNITIES, AS WELL AS FORMER ACTIVITIES OF THE NOW DEFUNCT "JAMBOREE" (although our Activities Committee has suspended the Weenie Roast thing, pending "safety review")!!  COME ONE, COME ALL IN 63 DAYS TO JIMBOREE, WHERE THERE ARE NEVER ANY "GREENS FEES" & THE 19TH HOLE IS ALWAYS LOCATED IN THAT VERY NEXT TENT!  AND, YES!! WE ARE STILL OFFERING THOSE FABULOUS F-R-E-E DOOR PRIZES TO FIRST-COME CHARTER MEMBERS!!   Cheesy

Trust in our motto:    "There's NEVER any profit & SELDOM any cents whatsoever at Jimboree."

Stumpy, it looks a lot like copyright infringement. You DID take the legal precaution to copyright ''Stumpy Lake'', DIDN'T you?  ???If you failed to have the FOREsight to do so, that explains its appearance all over the internet. Cry People recognize a good scam when they see one.  Roll EyesHow much campable land is there? There's none on Jimbo Lake. Wink

Stumpy Lake=Vacation Destination for the masses.

Actually, Stothers Martin played the role of "Captain" in the movie (more like prison warden).  Later movies pairing Paul Newman and Stothers Martin included Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Slap Shot and Pocket Money.  (Of course, Strothers played many more roles in John Wayne movies.)

I guess the man had a bit of "rabbit in his blood."

Which reminds me... I understand Stumpy claims he can eat 50 Pink Flamingo Easter Peeps at one sitting!  Fifty (50)!!

The quinquennial Peep-Eating Contest follows the ever popular Kilted Weenie Roast, folks.  Don't miss it!!

Strother Martin only hosted one SNL show (April, 1980).  Sadly, he died in Aug., 1980.  Maybe you are thinking of Steve Martin, who hosted numerous SNL's?
