No worries YB, the dream/nightmare you are having did not originate with me. Anyone who encounters visions of me in their sleep needs professional help. ???

Bruce & All -

You may have to bear with my fledgling efforts as I attempt to convert & refine my presentation style from "Voyageur Rap" to "Ballads".  I took a crack at it on my long trek to work this morning & ended up somewhere "in the middle", in the "limerick" neighborhood... I think.  Anyway, here goes:

***************************************
          THE BALLAD OF BUSHWHACKER BILL

T'is the ballad of Bushwhacker Bill
Who wandered the Woods for a thrill
But, oh, what a mess!
When that damned GPS
Conked out with the batteries killed!

He had aimed for "the Pond" in the Park
Which he sought on a Jamboree lark,
Following old Stumpy's vision,
Suffering laughs and derision,
From those CERTAIN that he'd "miss his mark".

So he banged through the brush in a daze
His Wits worried him well into Craze.
Through the thorns and the mud
He shed pounds, sweat, & blood
Wading swamps in a wilderness maze!

But Bushwhacker Bill... he had grit.
Plus he thought of the PRIZES he'd get
IF he would just persevere
And just carry that gear!
But... oh no!!  Now poor Bill had to sh_t!!!

Old Bill he did grunt and did groan
He did pant, he did shriek, he did moan!!
He seemed shit-outta luck,
When through Bushwhacker pluck,
Stumbled on Old Salt's Memorial Throne!

So Bill cried aloud with his glee
As he hosed that there shrine with his pee
When old Stumpy came 'round
To see what's going down
And got whizzed on the side of his knee!

So Stumpy dried off but was damp.
Cussed his luck & his boots he did stamp.
But soon "party" was on
And it lasted til Dawn
At Stumpy's Rendezvous Bushwhacker camp!

*************************************

WITH ONLY 49 DAYS TO HEAVEN, TODAY'S INAUGURAL BUSHWHACKER BALLADEERING WAS BROUGHT TO YOU BY:

Jimbo...

Your creativity has left me speechless...
I am at a loss of words at your profound ability...

We all pay you homage, as we are not worthy....

Jimbo, I think if your lead character in your ballad is named "Bushwacker Bill" you should try to come up with something to the tune of "Bungalow Bill" by the Beatles.  Just a humble suggestion from (or for?) the lyrically impaired...

...and Stumpy, I wish you luck.  You will be facing the singing, arm-wrestling, racing, flamingo-toting, shrine-building Jimbo along with the "32 flavors and then some" of Kawishaway.  I just have to believe this is not quite what you had in mind when you hatched this idea.  Of course you could just pair them off and Jimbo can come up with 32 different activities to keep the 32 personalities of K occupied!

Someone just HAS to bring a video camera to this shindig!  I know I'd pay almost anything to see a highlight film.

Snow_Dog,

No doubt ANY humble suggestion would improve the above contribution to the infant(ile?) branch of music known as Bushwhacker Balladeering.  I welcome all recommendations & thoughts.  I'm pleased to report the volume of hate mail for "Bushwhacker Balladeering" is not quite as high as that I received for "Voyageur Rap".

Alas, our prophet, poor Stumpy, is "suffering" up there in the cold, wet Park right now.  And, yes... I know, "he's far better THERE than to be down HERE suffering Bushwhacker Balladeering & Voyager Rap".  Regardless, the Master - Stumpy - is NOT currently in a position to confirm your conjecture re: his disciples not falling in line with his holy vision.

Shame be upon us, his humble servants, if our actions serve to thwart his will.  Stumpy be praised!  Hallelujah!

Now, as for my singing... nada, never, not a good thing.  "Songwriter", well... fan mail is running "iffy" on that referendum just now.

Arm wrestling?  Unhappily, I was humbled to a near stand-still by my sixteen year-old last week.  I officially withdraw from the Jamboree competition.

Race?  Hey, I am an HR guy.  I operate w/o respect to race, etc..

Flamingo-toting?  In keeping w/Quetico wildlife regs, I will NOT tote any flamingo out of the Park.  However, IF they are domesticated and truly belong in my home neighborhood, I cannot be held responsible if the FOLLOW me home, overhead.

Shrine-building?  Nah, I'm going to run with the Wildlife Preserve idea... it's more natural.  We'll corral a few of the exotic species & take photos of the dedication ceremony.

Now, as for your last wish...  shindig highlight (low light?) films.  This wish MAY be granted, IF that be the will of our prophet.  And, NO, Jimbo Music Enterprises does not now venture into OR ever expect to venture into Voyageur Rap or Bushwhacker Balladeering choreography work {just a pre-emptory note to stop, in advance, inevitable future hate mail before it even gets started}.

Anyhow, THAT's today's news.

48 DAYS....

Hi Gang........Stumpy here...
It's been over two years since my first post on this idea...back on the old forum. Some of you thought it was to far off...Now, we are more than halfway there, and less than two years away from reserving permits for it.
There have been a few criticts, but let me say this...It's not a contest. It's not about me...

Duh, obviously !....
I should have said...It "is" about Jimbo.

Hey, Stumpy, I was wondering what they were talking about, I thought I read you say you were going up this weekend.  Me too.  Ready for 20 degrees?
