Shaved legs will also decrease air resistance, enabling faster running.

Since I dont take a razor into the woods, seems I'd ask for the fabulous door prize to be a full can of Nair, that is providing you've booked your bet on me.

I've known since day one at meeting WW that he could whoop two of me. Tongue Probably could whoop Stumpy too. That's two of me and one of Stumpy.  Grin

I'm glad to know we can have some good hearted fun.  I'm truely looking forward to the BWJ.  I hope to live through it, (find the dang place) and maybe attend again in five years.  Who's to say.

Umm, Woods?

If I'm reading between the lines correctly on Stumpy's post you better change that order to "well-done" or even "burnt beyond recognition".

Do a search on "cormorant" and you should come up with some suitable recipes for the steak Stumpy has in mind.

K as you know being the only male living in my house I can clearly tell you that the NAIR thing is a long gone deal.  You need a new product called Veet!  Yes you read that right, Veet, Not Deet, nor Feet, but Veet.  As soon as I find out  if it doubles as a bug repelant I'll post the info here.  Grin
I've heard though, from the room across the hall, at times very loud screams.  But I think that was the candle wax and not the Veet.  But this is only hear say.  Wink  Run Forest Run  Oh! Oh! I mean Run K Run!

OK, so it is noted, I'm perhaps fearful of WW.  He is kinda Bear sized in comparison to me.  Though, so far, Stumpy, and you, QP, are nothing but talk.  But what do I know. I'm just some guy that has been lost a time or two or three with a woman that does'nt hit five foot dry, and then lost again with a dog that does'nt hit 13".

I'm looking forward to the trip, and putting aside bragging rites of who uses the best form of tanning bed.  To me the BWJ is yet another remarkable wrinkle in time.  Have I selected good guides?

As promised, I'll be offering a few tips....starting now....
You folk may have better ideas, but these are some things I do while bushwhacking....

1.Always stay within hearing distance of the guy/gal with canoe on head...they won't hear you but you can hear them. Stay together !!!

2. Everyone should have a compass and take readings at each break. You GPS folk...more power to you.

3. Stop often and pick your route well. Depending on terrain and trees, this may mean 100 yards or 30 feet.

4. Allow lots of time, and don't rush.

5. One trip it !....cut weight, stop often, do what you must but I think one tripping it is the only way to go. You are NEVER lost if your camp is on your back...Home is where you stop.

6. Let the canoe carrier set the pace and the stops.

more to com...

Wenzel Load Hauler ?.......I'll splint my leg with a sapling and duct tape, and walk out first.

Hey, Stumpy...

In the interest of travelling light - per your recommendations of 6/2/05 - I have decided NOT to bring my Wenzel Load Hauler along to Bushwhackers Jamboree.

Please be advised that, in the event of your busting your butt (or lower extremities), I can no longer provide you with comfortable transportation, as originally offered so long ago.

Therefore, please go easy around those cliffs & DO remember to pack your duct tape.  FYI

Woods,

We'll be east of Atikokan on Thursday night, preparing to enter the Park the next morning.  I guess we'll catch up with you six days later, in the middle.

We'll monitor Channel One on the walkie-talkie on Tuesday evening, every hour on the hour.  If we don't see you pre-bushwhack on Wednesday morning, we'll see you on the inside... I hope.

My son is the slender figure in the wide-brimmed, green Costa Rican "Imperial" beer hat.  I'm the wider, taller, gray-whiskered guy in the Filson vest and Columbia River hat.

The gold SR17 will either be under me or over me.

Travel safely.
