HEY !
The BWJ 2005 anouncement date is ONLY 229 days away !!!

I'm thinking of changing the name of it to..."Bushwhackers Rendezvous 2005".

This may help dispell the "party in the woods" impression, that some may have about it.
Any comments ?

Hey, is that one lake, or two ?

Since you have brought it up, I think thats a great idea Stumpy.  In fact I'd like to add to it a little.   Well sort a, I think the BWJ thats now the BR 2005.  Needs a lake name.  So how about it everyone do you think Stumpy Lake would be a good name?   It sure sounds better to me than that Unnamed Lake.  This would be the easiest lake for me to add to my how did they get there lake name.
Yup I've been B.U.G.B.I.T. yet again.

Looks like two, but then if I look closely it could be four.  (McKenzie Maps)  In wet years, it could just be one...Hmmm, am I looking at the same lake as Stumpy?

BWR is a better title than BWJ...BWJ has identity conflicts with a certain publication.  That's my opinion.

Stumpy,

IF you're trying to dispel the "party in the woods" impression, I'm not so sure that calling it "Rendezvous" helps much.

Historically speaking, the Voyageur's BIGGEST PARTY BASH of the year was called "Rendezvous"!!  Lots of drinking, carousing, wrestling, fighting, eye-gouging, merry-making, etc. & so on....  That's what it was known for!!!

Me-thinks you're stepping in the wrong direction, oh fearless leader, lest that be your true intention....

So... This means I am going to have to change the
names on my file folders, maps, and spreadsheets?

How about "Bushwacker's Eye-Gouging '05"  It has a nice ring to it that will keep the casual canoers at bay . . .

LOL!! Hey, I'd be all for THAT name change, except... if I'm lucky enough to find/hack my way into Stumpy's middle-of-nowhere paradise, I'd rather not reduce the odds of SEEING my way out!!

OK. I plan all my trips a year out, if not more. Yeah, I'm already thinking about 2005's trip. So, it would be great to know where this thing is going, so I can check a map or two and begin to get the mind going in the right direction. A simple N/W cordinate will suffice.....

Cheers,

Sounds good to me, I don't care what you call it, I just want to go to Stumpy Lake.
