This was my 9 yr. old son's first canadian canoe camping trip.

Put in at the Dashwa Lake Landing approx. 20 km's north of Atikokan.  While we hoped to make Wasp Lake as our final destination we ended up base camping on Dashwa due to time of day and his desire to start fishing / swimming and "camping".

This area is beautiful in it's own right and I will resist the temptation to do a compare/contrast with Quetico.  The scenery is the same but that's where the similarities just might end.  Certainly any canoe camper who loves the Q or BW would greatly appreciate WOW.  I'll leave it at that.

Weather was great, no bugs, fishing was . . . IM me if you are interested.  I would be happy to share specific details with interested individuals via IM's.

This trip was was about introducing my son to wilderness canoe camping and it was everything I imangined it would be.
