BTW, if you haven't visited the recipes page lately, you might want to take a look at the new design.

Recipes are now broken down by category (Main dishes, Fish, Breakfasts, etc.) to make it easier to find what you are looking for.

Additionally, submissions are encouraged.  You don't need to be a campfire gourmet, either.  Lots of us are looking for recipes that are easy and quick, too!

Snow_Dog - I'm very surprised you noticed. What's it been like what, 6 months or a year since you read every recipe and categorized them for me? It was a big help (THANK-YOU)  and still the changes plus adding a few recipes took a day for me to make happen. I should have at least organized things long ago 'cause it was a big improvement. Categorizing additional sections has to be done but I only got as far as the fish recipes for now. If anyone want's to force it, send new recipes. The index page is about as big as I want to let it get. A few more will force more organization.

I have to ask. Is the time, difficulty, convenience rating in the (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)??

I didn't see a key for the letter designations. Maybe no one else needs it but I'm a little slow.

Thanks KF. I was afraid of that. Try clicking on the top of the page where it says "Recipe Rating System" Cheesy

KF or anyone:
Would it help if I made clicking the words "Prep Time...Convenience" pop that window as well? Other Ideas? Honestly, I expected that would be a problem and I've been trying to think of better, more intuitive ways - IF feedback says the ratings are helpful. I have most of the needed info already. It's not hard to add it.

On a personal note:
I have this huge smile on my face right now. Way back when I started QJ I wanted it to be like a real trip. I expected the content to be all my own so if someone didn't bother to paddle the back bays and poke around a little they'd never know how good the fishing was or the neat things they'd find down there. Where's Waldo or an easter egg hunt comes to mind. There are still a few areas like that where thoughtful, patient visitors can stumble across something new to them but I don't purposefully make many new areas like that anymore because most people rarely find them. I'll never forget when one fairly intelligent, prolific, well known forum member was surprised the forum was just one small part of a much larger site! I try to do better these days but QJ has a lot of stuff and what I think is important is certainly debatable. Yet people continually send me stuff in good faith and I do my best. It sometimes takes me a while so don't be discouraged. I'll get back to you when I can or just do it.

Oddly enough this site has always been like a real trip for me. A group trip anyway. Sure, I put lot's of stuff in a bag, in a bag, in a bag...behind a few zippers... and personally, I despise those twenty or thirty links on the bottom of some newer pages. They are there (or not) to help people find stuff I think they might want. We just brought way more stuff than I expected and I'd like people to find what they need.

BTW - I'll always reserve the right to put rocks in anyones pack at anytime it pleases me. Wink

Honestly, db, I didn't even think you included the ratings.  I never thought to click on the heading.  Now that I see it, I like the way that you did it.  I think all that's missing is an explaination on the main recipe page to click category headings to get more info about that category.

Very nice! (now that I see it)
Yes, my first try to find a key was by using the headings themselves. I think that would work fine. Good work.
