My wife lost her digital camera on the 105 rod portage from hudson to insula on 8/9/2009.  It is an olympus 1030 in an orange camera case.  We just did the relay for life, for cancer survivors.  My wife is 5 yrs cancer free and this was her first relay.  All her pictures are on it.  She is just devastated.  If anyone found or know who did please reply.  Thank you so much.

Every time I hear of someone who lost a camera, I keep thinking of the advice I was given a while back.  The person said, I should take a picture of my home address + phone number as the first shot, and save those pictures to a more stable location ASAP.

My intent with the name, address, e-mail ... on the first exposure idea was more of a "who gets the body?" type thing that seemed transferable. My permit and license are kept safe in a case that's too big and heavy to drag everywhere.

Orange case? I'd expect someone already has said to themselves: Hey look what I found!

FWIW - my mailing address is public information and therefore easy enough for anyone to obtain. Burn a CD, send it to me and I'll see that the pics find their rightful owner no questions asked. I'd gladly look the other way as a matter of pride as I've seen this particular plea before. If you'd prefer to send it w/ instructions somewhere else, that'll work too.

I'd imagine outfitters would suffer the same temptations as everyone else. Burn a CD, stick it in the mail ... have a heart.
