Fall Lake Camp Grounds.

I've stayed at these grounds one time before... but do not know if there are any favorite sites...Looking at taking a friend up North this summer that isn't ready for the true wilderness.  She wants... a toilet...shower...blah blah blah.  Her son will be along and also not prepared as of yet for canoe camping. Throwing in the factor that my average gf lasts about one night, this is already a marathon relationship for me...so we'll see.

It's still a long ways off but if anyone could give me their thoughts on the facilities or best sites to ask for...(or are they all good)... for the conventional camper I'd appreciate it.  I do not recall the facilities well as it was five years ago I stayed on these grounds.

Hey...the bright side is she prefers this over renting a cabin! Smiley

TIA

Just a thought, if you stay at Fall Lake, you will see & hear lots of boats & motors. If you would like to avoid the crowd & noise, consider Sawbill Lake, which has showers & plumbing at the outfitter next door. You will be in a paddle only area, and have a few options for daytrips...a nice one is to drive down the road to Kawishiwi Lake, paddle over to Square L and on to Kawasachong where I almost always find Moose, somewhere along the way. Kawasachong is a good waldo lake...

We stayed there prior to our trip last year, We had a nice site, but no one else was there.  We go very late season (October), the campground closed the next day. Cost was $15/site; $30 for our large group, two sites/ tents.  Restrooms were well maintained.

Here's a site map.  I think we camped at site 37 by the restroom.

Here's some other campground options.

I stayed there very late last October. It was closed and I was the only one there. I did a lot of checking the place out. The best sites seemed to be the ones further down on the left hand side as you left the office. I don't remember numbers.

According to Starwatchers link, we stayed at site 54 which is a tent site overlooking the lake with 100' of woods between the site and the road.  Same as site 55 to the left of us, which was a nicer site yet.
Sites 51 and 53 are both decent RV sites and within view of the restroom/shower facility.

Wonderful input!  Thank you All.

Reality says Fall Lake is the logical Choice as of the need to see friends while there for such a short visit.
Next... She acts tough...kicks ass on occasion... though at same time a girly girl... likes to shop (yes I suffer) n likes culture.
Boy...6 years old.  The sound of motors and people chatter may comfort fears of Lions and Tigers n Bears... things that go bump in the night.

What Happened?  I'm being domesticated?...for the moment anyway...she has her sights set on me...? (Could change 2mrrw)
Me?  Still crappn my pants wondering...

Fall Lake it is...  Will Bookmark this thread though for future reference.
Grizzlylarso, YB... u talkn bout Fall or other Grounds?
