Pushy, persistent bear on Ensign Lake - watch out!

Had a customer report a bear coming in camp three nights in a row on an island in Ensign. (sorry not sure which one).

The bear climbed up the tree, broke/cut the rope (with claws?), grabbed the pack and opened it up and ate everything in their cold food bag while still up in the tree with them watching below.

Pack has a tear in it which can be fixed but the Kondos cold bag was annihilated.

Thanks for the heads up.  Not too surprising on Ensign.  Folks, if a bear comes back after you scare it off, it's not afraid of you.  You need to move camp, even if it's not convenient.

Quite right, jjc.

And Parks staff has to be notified too, even though it usually means a death sentence for the bear. Sadly, once they get to this stage, there's not much hope of rehabilitation.
