From my home, north of Two Harbors, Minnesota, the northern sky currently has a diffuse glow of white northern lights visible up to perhaps ten degrees.  Certainly not spectacular, but the last couple of years have been pretty sparse in terms of auroras due to very minimal solar storm activity.  Hopefully things will pick up in the next couple of hours.

Saw the aurora borealis from Beartrap Lake on 8/3.  Very good ribbon for several minutes, then lots of dancing blues & greens accompanied by decent flashing displays.  We also saw them 8/4 and 8/5 from Sunday, but they were not very spectacular.
