I like todays POD more than I think I should. I mean, it's just a photo of rocks, trees, and water. Been there, done that, right?
So can somebody tell me WHY I like this pic? I think understanding why I like it would make me a better photographer. Visual art is not my forte. I try hard but...
Okay, as an amateur artist; here’s my read on the design elements:
The center of interest are light areas; (the sky on the horizon).
The line of grass, dark cloud fingers, horizon and the shore line
point and lead you to the center of interest. The dark trees and clouds frame the picture.
Dramatic Design elements include putting dark against light (The dark
sky and the horizon against the center of interest); And warm colors against cool ( The pink water against the light blue sky)
And complementary colors are pleasing to the eye ( reddish brown grass and brush against the green trees)
Now, don’t analysis it; just look it and enjoy it.
