Scheduling QJ forum downtime for this weekend

Heads up! If things go as planned, on Friday July 1st, QJ forums will go down. Could be Thursday....

When they reappear, hopefully sometime Saturday or if things get ugly by Sunday, things will look and work a little differently. QJ is moving to a new server and so I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to upgrade forum software as well.

Beyond that, there are three things you should be aware of:
#1 - Do you know your username/password combo. (It should be sealmess but who knows?)

#2 - The "mostly paddles - BW or Q" choice in your profiles (if defined) will revert to gender.  Shocked   You can change it now, later or keep us guessing. There will be new additional field(s) for sharing basic of info like that in the profile section of a new "User CP" link.

#3 - Looks like Inukshuks and anyone who's paid for access is something I will have to reset by hand. So give me until Tuesday before you yank my chain. By Wednesday, you may have slipped through the cracks so certainly let me know with a PM or email.

------------------
See you on the other side. Keep your fingers and toes crossed. Please offe a heads-up after Thursday the 7th if/when you find other parts of QJ that don't work like they use to.

I can't look at it much longer. There's a few odds&ends I still need to address before changing the DNS but sometime tonight, I'm putting things in maintenance mode and will sleep while transferring recently modified files. The rest of the site, with any luck, should be fine. We'll all find out for sure together.

Let the electrons fall where they may.

If things go really sour, we have a two month window to wash-up back here and give it another go when the wind dies down.
