Let me know what's broken please

The last few months I've made way too many drastic changes for my tiny little brain to be sure but they've been mostly good ones I hope.

How that directly affects you, here, is that QJ now has dedicated (as opposed to shared) resources and sits on a new server. The old one could no longer keep up way too often and annoyed people so I had to do something. These forums as well as the gallery also received some major software upgrades at the same time. I really have no clue what I'm doing and am basically a -if it ain't broke don't fix it - only know enough to be dangerous- type of guy. While I may also be the type that reads directions, I mostly learns by doin - so bear with please.

The one thing I've tried and failed to fix is the main board's collapse feature so I added some alternative templates ... User CP > Profile > Options> bottom of page. It was important to me - might work for you. Also, the Inukshuk 'hide ads' feature may also work better now if you're interested. Seems to anyway.

Beyond that, you may want to check your gender setting in User CP > Profile > Edit Profile as that has changed. There are some new options in there as well if you're interested.

I know people don't often welcome change (or read this far "never had a problem") but the back-end of QJ needed a different approach from my perspective soit is what it is - let's make the best of it - eh?

FWIW - default settings should work well enough but there should be more, rather than less options for anyone interested, but if something doesn't work at all - let me know please. I may not respond with a thank you but please know I always appreciate a heads-up so thanks in advance for your help.

Anyway, there's like ~50 things that I know will be broken on the rest of the site and 3X that have been depreciated to the point that they are no longer used. I'm only planning to fix what's broken and used so I can toss the rest by at some point. This has become so personalized I really can't even imagine all the stumbling blocks people may encounter so speak up! Where there's one there's more with the exact same problems.

Can't expand or collapse boards in "blue".  Just FYI.

Picky picky  Grin

Try "Blue collapse"

It's not exactly the same but the guts are the same and what you want to collapse probably will.

Oddly enough, lots do. That's why I kept it as intact as possible. The collapse feature, like I said, was an issue of mine so...

Hey! Where's my damn (cold and fuzzy) picture!

It was a huge move. Everyone should now be able to add a profile picture of/on their. If the 100K size is a problem, send me something and I'll make it so.

I've alwyas used defaults.  I see I can change them in my profile.  Where can I learn about them, in particular the blue, collap0se, etc., options?

Someone found a glitch in his PM box. All his old PMs were in "storage"(?) and came up with a little padlock on them. (see attached) They were all inaccessible and it looked to me like all he could do with them was delete them.

I was able to reconstruct his PMs from the old forum but I'm not yet sure if there is a way to merge them with any new PM sent or received.

So check your old PMs and let me know if you can't open any. His were all locked so just check a few. The sooner the better I guess. You have been warned.
