Incredible work. Those birds look huge. We have lots of osprey here in florida but I have never seen them carrying anything close to the loads these birds have. I wonder where this footage was taken?

Yeah, but some wildlife official would probably label it as grappling and slap you with a ticket!   Wait a minute.  Maybe you could get away with calling it noodling! Wink

Thanks.  Great wildlife video!  On my very first trip to Quetico (crossing Bayley Bay), I saw a Bald Eagle do that.  Amazing!!

That was an AWESOME video post. I think the flounder (or whatever flat it fish that happened to be) section was the coolest...though the first one with the bunch of fish in the talons was cool too. Overall, bad ass video

I especially liked the scene where the osprey shook the water off itself in flight, and to watch the effort it took to get that salmon up in the air and in aerodynamic position.

just got that link in an e-mail, and saved it to my favorites.  That site has a lot to offer, including trees,  flora of N America etc.- worth spending some time with.

didn't know where ot put it - certainly didn't seem to be for the "back to civilization" forum.

"Loved the entry profile for the flounder."

yeah

I once watched an Osprey do a dive from about 300 yards up - full tuck, head first like a peregrine in a stoop - apparantly they can judge the depth of the fish accurately, and adjust thier technique accordingly.   I've been seeing an osprey up at the local lake, but so far, just circling up high, no fish catching.
