In Piragis in Ely, they have a wall that has individual KcKenzie maps put together to show the entire BWCA and Quetico area.  Does anyone know of a place in Minneapolis / St. Paul that has a large map like that?

My basement.

It's Quetico-centric in that my wall wasn't tall or wide enough to fit both parks.  I covered it with plexiglass panels so I can use dry erase markers on it, too. (plus it keeps the cat from ripping up the maps)

My house is about to be for sale, so if you are in the market to buy I could be talked into leaving the map...  Grin

That's a cool idea SD Thumbs Upup

I'm surprised some creative artistic types haven't come up with some kind of wall sized folding map/screen that's laminated.
Like a highway road map, you could fold it out as needed and to fit the area you have.

I know if it was half-way reasonably priced, I would be interested in such a item.
Planning trips in detail without having to lay out individual area maps would be great.

I use the Chrismar Quetico map for trip planning.  I'm not sure if there is something similar for BWCA.  Chrismar isn't quiet as detailed as the Fisher or McKenzie, but I like it for developing route options.  I still have to dig out the Fisher maps to figure out campsites, etc., or use the computerized versions.
