JChief:

I assume when you refer to the Deaux River, you're referring to Deux Rivières between Dore and Sturgeon - I mean it sure looks like it from the photo. It's just that I have never seen it spelled that way before.

Great set of pictures --

I just can't help but thinking about today's:
"Which way do we go?"  Wink

Thanks Mk, that was part of the reason to choose that route into Sturgeon and it didn't disappoint...

Looks like Deaux River....BUT there's water in it!!  Grin

IC, there was enough water to float but that was about it. Spent most of the time push poling from the stern and pulling from the bow or out of the canoe mucking our way through. This picture was just after the second beaver dam

Phoenix, saw that spelling on a map (can't remember which one) and it looked more interesting than Deux, Americanized the river part...

db, no GPS on our trips, I think he was putting his camera away. As for the 2X6, my bowman used it as a back brace to add support while paddling, but I brought it along to use as a fish cleaning "table", nice flat surface...

Blueberries in northern BC in late September - who knew?

This is a continuation of the Bowron POD-series-plus-sort-of-a-trip-report started a couple of months ago. The maps and preamble are on page 1 of this thread.

This pic was taken in the southwest corner of the park, on a short side hike to Cariboo Falls.

This morning's photo of the mountain with the lighting is fantastic.

Is that a stand of dead trees in the middle right of the photo? Pine beetles or fire?

Thanks - it really was that weird rose colour.

I think the dead trees are beetle kill. This is (?) Mt. Hughes, in the SW corner of the park, so it is in one of the few areas that did have significant pine beetle problems.

Of don't often comment on photos, but I love the picture of the little guy sitting on a log, writing his journal?  The photo says so much...

Makes me anxious for my little granddaughter to get a bit older (she's 15 months) so I can take her up to god's country.

Again, that is absolutely a beautiful photo;  I love the reflections in the water.

Nice set of shots - looks like the kids had a great time.
How old was your youngest, and was he sitting on a pack or seat in yesterday's POD?
