So the little buggers learn to evolve quickly when faced with an obstacle, much like the Borg!!

I remember reading somewhere last year or the year before about the MN DNR testing water quality in various lakes across the state. Every one they tested had measurable traces of DEET in the samples. I can only assume they were careful so as to not contaminate said samples. What doesn't kill 'em makes 'em stronger?

Westwood, I think the early lumberjacks also did that; I understand they wore long underwear in the middle of the summer.

Being funky/ ungroomed facial hair is fine when your solo, but in a group setting or if your tripping with the lady in your life, you need to hold a minimum standard of hygiene

I try to eat a Mediterranean diet which includes lots of garlic/onions and have found if I use scentless soap the skeeters don't seem to bother me as much. If you don't like garlic, you can take garlic pills say a month before you trip and they might help?
I also do the Permethrin clothes treatment and have found that 90% of the time I don't need anything else.

I spray it (deet) on my clothes,espescially my hat,and wear long sleaves and long pants and keep my head net handy. I've heard they're(The bugs) homing in on your carbon dioxide(only mamals exhal it---generally,  and body heat...another warm blooded thing.) I think,rather than repel the blood suckers,we're hiding from them.
