That was good for a laugh!  Thankfully no injuries, but if it was my canoe, I'd charge them for the popped rivets.

(And you wonder why renting a canoe is so expensive ...)

The vids on canoe "mishaps" are quite plentiful.......
This one reminded me of the typical school outing where no one knew what they were doing (but that was part of the fun)

I saw some novice canoeists on a similar outing on the Fox River in Illinois.  They were canoeing down the river at 4 or 5 knots when they came to a low hanging tree that extended out horizontally from the bank about three feet above the water and it knocked them out of the canoe like a football tackle, capsized their canoe and scattered their gear.  Very painful to watch.  We helped them gather their belongings and dignity.

Sometimes I wonder if some of these are just "staged" because you would think at least 1 person in a group setting would know better Huh

But, when I think back to when I went with 3 other guys and some of the dumb stunts 2 out of the 3 did on a regular basis, I realize that some people despite the warnings of others somehow think they can be the exceptions to the rule. Roll Eyes
