Any Ely/Duluth area dog kennels anyone would recommend?

One of the limiting factors in our trip length time frame is how long our dog is in the kennel.
Soon as we drop him off my fiance starts feeling guilty and begins asking how soon we'll return to pick him up.
He travels great in the car, but we could never trust him off leash. So taking him along in the Q wouldn't work. Besides during our last rainy/snowy Oct trip I reminded her that her cold wet dog would expect to sleep on her nice dry sleeping bag in the tent with us. Yes he's spoiled.
One solution would be leaving him nearby just before we go in.

You could consider Sweet Wind Kennel at Cook, MN.  Just 25 miles further up Hwy 53 than Tower/Ely #169 cutoff.  Return to Ely via #115 Cook to Tower, then back on familiar route.  Friends of mine who have had their dog stay there cannot say enough nice things about the folks who run it.  It is out in the country, not in town.

I_C, Thanks
Found several with web searches but local intel/feedback is what I hoped for.
Thanks again.

P_B, He's a Springer and we're usually coming up 53 from Ind. Sometimes circle around the north shore of Superior if we're leaving from Northern Mich.

We've used Harbor City kennels on the north side of Duluth for our cats and have been pleased with the service they provide.
