Nice one today Puckster. We had an eagle staking us out last year so my buddy paddled the carcasses to a rock about 50 yards from camp. I was ready, or so I thought, with the video camera. He took two strokes of the paddle after setting the bait and that sucker was gone! Missed a great photo op again.

A few years ago I got the duty of dressing my trip partners and my fish.  On the way back to camp I stop on a one rock island and my partner went on to camp.  I had 3 walleye to dress.  My back was already talking to me when I started so I was in a hurry.  I cut the fillets off the first fish and with out standing up flung the carcass behind me and I heard it go splash about 7 ft out in the water.  Next fish same thing.  Next fish did not hit the water but I did hear wings. Turned around to see an eagle flying away with the last carcass. Wish I had a video of that.

Thanks Pajeff, and thanks for patiently wading through all my photos.

I sent too many pics!  I guess I didn't think they'd all be shown consecutively.  I'd be sick of looking at so many of one person's pics!  I think the end is in sight.

IMHO, there is NO such thing as too many pics for the POD. Thumbs Upup I wondered about that consecutive picture thing myself?
I wonder if there is a way db, could somehow put POD’s on some kind of “shuffle” like a CD player without adding to the yeoman’s work he already does now?

That's a great idea to improve chair legs  Thumbs Upup
last year my son's chair leg didn't sink in but broke through the soil surface. the timing and balance was odd sending him to the ground where his hip met a rock.
I'd also like to hear the pike n bass n net story
no problem here with all the Mike pics in a row...enjoying them, thanks!

I've heard a wise man once say that there are two kinds of chairs: those that are designed to fold easily and those that are designed to sit on.  The Helinox camp chair folds and packs nicely.  The fatal flaw of the design of this chair is all the weight it forces onto the individual legs. I'm a little guy: 5'9", 150 pounds, and I can only sit in this chair if it's on bedrock or on really, really hard packed soil.  Otherwise, the legs drive into the ground and throws the chair off-kilter.  Frustrating!  But with a little PCV pipe, I'm working toward a solution.  Not there yet, but getting there.

Last fall my son and I were canoeing up Granite River, dragging a crank bait.  Got a hit, and like a pro, I said, "This feels like a walleye."  Yeah, sure. So much for impressing my son.

We soon saw that we had a little bass, which in turn was being consumed by the northern.  Surprisingly, everything stayed on as we netted it.  We let the bass go, and ate the northern.  The eagle-with-fish carcass POD a few days back was what remained of the northern.

Glad you guys have enjoyed the pics.  I hope that's the last of them!

Your PCV fix is ST-McGyver approved Thumbs Upup
I have the same issue with the legs on my cheapo Coleman chair on my Fall trip.
I tried it a little bit different than you did. I put T's on each leg. My chair legs are 3/4 aluminum and I used 1" T's. I used some duct-tape to wrap around leg so the T's would press fit on.
Works great around home at least so far. I went that route becasue I wanted to be able to straddle any rocks/roots and have more options.

ST -- I might try your "T" solution.  Keeping the cross pieces attached is a pain.  (I can't glue them, or I wouldn't be able to take the chair apart.)  If the "Ts" prevent the legs from planting in the ground, then that's the easier approach.

I miss my old LaFuma stadium chair!

Only drawback I see IF it works for you, is you don't want to lose a T, but that's just a matter of paying attention.
