Lac La Croix Questions

I am taking my kids to Lac La Croix next week.  We have a BWCAW permit only.  Do we need another permit to see the pictographs and Warrior Hill?  If so how do I get that permit?

Also can anyone recommend a book that contains information about the pictographs and Warrior Hill.

I have a vague understanding about Warrior Hill, but does anyone have information about the "legend" or stories of W.H.?  I have found that this kind of information really is enjoyable to my kids....

Thanks

If you are found actively fishing or camping on the Canada side of the border you might get a ticket.  I have not heard of anyone being ticketed for being near and just looking at Warrior Hill or the Pictos on LaCroix.  Theoretically the border "route" is open to travelers of both parks to make the logistics of travel and some portages manageable.
There are several very nice BWCAW campsites near and somewhat southeast of Warrior Hill (on islands) your permit will cover.
