i just returned from Cirrus Lake.  My depth finder was showing numerous fish at 100+ feet depths.  Anyone have an idea on what kind of fish might be at that depth?

Pollyhumpers... though some folks argue the species actually pre-dates "fish."

Hmmm... I was all over Cirrus Lake the last week of May & wasn't registering much of anything at that depth.  I'm using a Cuda 242.  Probably your unit has better resolution than mine.

I was catching trout in about 6 feet of water in that strait that separates the northern & southern tier of Cirrus.

Puckster,

Likely whitefish. I have Canadian guides tell me that schools of whitefish can be at the bottom of deep lakes and will also suspend 20 to 30 feet off the bottom like lakers.

Apparently tasty table fare too.

Agreed Wally........

Much of what we see on depth finders could be quite a variety of species. I have deep jigged rather ordinary pike out of 60ft of water while trying for lakers. There is also lots of ciscos and suckers which are around.
