What is your favorite song/music as you prepare and drive to canoe country? What floats your boat?

I like 'Against the Wind' by Bob Seger.  Cool

The Emperor of Wyoming

...but what I usually hear, i.e. the "earworm" is whatever my middle schoolers have been listening to on pop radio...megan trainor, lady gaga, taylor swift, imagine dragons....welcome to the "tweens" years  Shocked

...but I really like Seger and Lightfoot!

Before entering, there was a time I loved Zoolook - Jean Michel Jarre right before entering

Exiting is was always David Lindley - She Took Off My Romeos. I'd crank the heat or the AC depending … and floor it. We were introduced on the second week of my second trip if I recall correctly.

We'll be fresh out of POD's soon FWIW.

We play 'paddle songs' by Jerry Vandiver.  He has several CD's, but I guess the favorite is "True and Deep".  Our granddaughter is a great fan, too, so she loves to have Jerry's music on the CD player in the car and sing along!  She is going to Canoecopia with us this year so that she can hear Jerry's presentations.

On the way home I am still in the quiet mode and would prefer no music, but Spartan1 usually has the radio on with some talk station.   Wink  I am reviewing photos on my card reader and don't pay much attention to what he is listening to.

"Against the Wind" seems to fit the canoe country if you've paddled long enough.
I try hard not to have "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald "  Wink Grin Grin

I REALLY like the blues. Cool I just bought some root blues CD's from here. If that type of classic Americana music is too your liking and you want some of the profits to go to keeping it alive, I heartily recommend this:

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

And of course classic rock from the Golden Age of Rock, so I burn some CD'S mixing the two.
I like some Zeppelin/Similar music while I'm cruising, loud enough to keep me from getting "white line fever".

Sometimes if I'm in the mood, I like OLD school country. A little Willie and Waylon.

Many years ago a good friend of mine took Willie Nelson's On the Road Again and changed it to On the Lake Again.  I like to sing as I paddle.  Unfortunately, my friend died much too young from cancer.  So the song reminds me of him.

Ditto Fallguy re: Edmund Fitzgerald, but it's hard to avoid thinking of that one when half of your drive north is spent looking over your right shoulder eyeballing big "Lake Gitche Gumee."

When I look away from the big lake and over my left shoulder, I'm more likely singing "Northwest Passage" by Stan Rogers.
